Objective: SWBAT make subjects and verbs agree in a sentence.  SWBAT compose an SAT practice essay.

Do-Now: You have FIVE minutes to review for your Subject/Verb Agreement Quiz.

Today: 1) Subject/Verb Agreement Quiz

2) Practice SAT Essay #2: Choose from one of the THREE sample SAT Essay topics and compose a rough draft.

Exit Slip: What do you plan on doing differently when writing SAT Essay #2?  Explain.

Homework: Finish your second practice essay and bring it with you Tuesday, April 2.  Also, if you have not yet turned in a revision for your first essay, turn it in after break.

Objective: SWBAT identify and correct sentence errors on SAT Writing Section 4.

Do-Now: Describe the rules for making subjects and verbs agree in a sentence.  (Don't forget to mention what to do with compound subjects.)

Today: 1) You will have 25 minutes to complete Writing Section 4.

2)  For the remainder of class, work with a partner to review your incorrect answers for Writing Section 4 using the Answer Key.  Try to figure out why your answer was wrong and the correct answer was right.  Then, write a note on your paper describing why the correct answer was right.

Exit Slip: Are there any explanations from the Answer Key for Section 4 that you don't understand?  If so, list the numbers of those questions so that we can review them in class Thursday.

Homework: Subject/Verb Agreement Quiz on THURSDAY, March 21!!!

2) Review homework: Subject-Verb Agreement Practice 3 and Test 1.

3) Review Subject-Verb Practice 1

4) Complete Subject-Verb Agreement Test 2 and 3.

Today: 1) Review the "SAT Essay Scoring Guidelines."

2) Discuss how to write a strong essay in a 25-minute time frame.

3) Begin revising your SAT essay.
